Microphone comparison. Each microphone or combination of microphones has a unique character and the choice of microphones can be custom-tailored to the specific customer needs.
Excerpt from Prelude in C Sharp Minor by Rachmaninov. Microphones used: pair of Neumann KM 183's and pair of CHI™ omnis from 3 Zigma audio. The microphones were spaced 16" from each other and standing about 3.5' from the piano. A pair of CHI™ cardioids in XY configuration was set up at 2' from the piano. A pair of Cascade Fat Heads II in MS configuration was set up at 1' from the piano. No editing except noise suppression. Special thanks to ADK Microphones for the opportunity to test the CHI™ microphone system*.
Eternal Classics introduces the technology. It allows to keep the highest quality of the sound during all stages of sound processing. The signal coming from a microphone is digitized by top notch analog-to-digital converters to a high resolution digital media and whatever is done with the sound later the resolution never drops. In fact all sound processing is done with the resolution higher than the original recording. We do not use unnecessary DA/AD conversions to prevent the signal quality loss. This ensures that the final master will have the highest resolution possible before it is transferred to the regular CD. To ensure the highest CD quality we use the most sophisticated dithering algorithms available in the market.
